Behaviour Support Lead job summary

Fairfield Park Lower School is an innovative, creative, 2 site school with an ambitious curriculum and a passion for diversity. We provide children with a rich and exciting education which is relevant to them, and which develops their skills and abilities.

All children are treated as individuals. We put the children at the heart of everything we do. The environment that we provide is nurturing and caring. We ensure there are no barriers to learning.

We believe children need to be nurtured and developed as individuals to enable them to become lifelong learners and good citizens. We are a highly successful values-based school built on the partnership between pupils, parents/carers, staff, governors and the local community, due to our shared vision of high expectations. We, as a school, pride ourselves in ensuring that we achieve quality in all that we do.

Our purpose is to work together to create a positive learning environment in which all pupils can realise their full potential. We encourage and support all our pupils and in return we expect high standards of work, conduct and appearance. The school is a fantastic learning environment that we continually improve and enhance.

We are very excited to introduce this new role to the FPLS team. As the Behaviour Support Lead you will have previous experience of working with children with challenging behaviours and leading teams.

You will work as a member of the school’s pastoral and inclusion team alongside teaching staff and the Special Education Needs Department to ensure that every pupil’s needs are met through the provision of targeted support and intervention. The Behaviour Support Lead will will work closely with the cohort leaders, phase leaders and the inclusion team under the designated school inclusion team. The main responsibility will be to take ownership of the nurture room and nurture provision (across both sites) to provide a purposeful learning environment for pupils to continue their progress when a class can be overwhelming, thus needing a bespoke temporary provision. The role will also involve a mixture of dealing with difficulties around the school in terms of pastoral support and working with our inclusion team to support parents/carers of pupils with behavioural and attendance issues.

May I take this opportunity to invite you to visit our school (call 01462 830000 or email office@fairfieldparklower.uk to arrange) and to thank all applicants for their interest in this post and in Fairfield Park Lower School we look forward to receiving your application.
