Pay scale: TPLTSS5 £16,912 - £18,878 (gross, actual salary, pro rata per annum)

GCSE Grade C/4+ or above in English (Literacy) and Maths (Numeracy) or numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Training in relevant learning and SEND support strategies.
Awareness of national frameworks, and evidence of working with students with a range of learning difficulties.
Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning.
A good working knowledge or willingness to learn the relevant teaching programmes/strategies and a good understanding of child development and learning processes.
Self-motivated with a desire to improve own practice/knowledge through self-evaluation and working with others.
Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to young people, their welfare, education and personal development.

Support the day-to-day running of the Supported Learning Room (SLR), ensuring that students are effectively supervised, and that high standards of behaviour are achieved.
Ensure students are aware of the procedures and expectations whilst in the SLR and, when necessary, reinforce the reasons for the sanction.
Be responsible for ensuring there is work provided by staff and ensuring that all work is effectively distributed and collected at the end of each day.
Develop additional programmes of work for students to complete during periods of time in the SLR in liaison with subject leaders so that student learning is maximised.
