Breakfast and After School Club Playworkers job summary
We are looking for Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Club Playworkers to join our vibrant and inclusive primary school community. You will be supporting the social, emotional and physical development of all children, including those with special educational needs. Epsom Downs Community School is a diverse and vibrant Primary School set on the edge of the famous Epsom Downs racecourse. We are a large and well-resourced school with outside play areas equipped to the highest standard, a small farm, an off-site Nature World, a Music room, Library, dedicated Media Suite and even an outdoor beach! Our breakfast, after school and holiday club (BASH) is a popular provision that has been running since 2008. It offers affordable childcare to children in full-time education, from full time reception to year 6, run by experienced activity leaders. This is a casual zero-hours position, engaged on the basis that your services will be required regularly, on a long-term basis. No particular hours or times of work will be guaranteed or specified in advance.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidate will be required to have an enhanced DBS check and an overseas criminal records check if you have lived or worked outside the UK within the last 10 years. Shortlisted candidates will also be subject to an online check in accordance with the updated KCSIE statutory guidance.
All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a declaration regarding offences and have references requested (unless agreed otherwise), prior to the interview. ID documents and evidence of address will need to be produced at interview; which for the successful candidate will form the basis of proceeding with a DBS check.
