Breakfast Club Assistant job summary

Within the role you will assist in the delivery of breakfast, play and care provision for children aged between 4 and 11 years. This will involve supervising the provision of a healthy cold breakfast, promoting healthy eating habits, and supporting appropriate play-based activities.

Hours of work:

  • 30 mins per day Monday to Friday - up to 2.5 hours per week
  • 45 mins per day Monday to Friday (to include setting up and clearing away time) – up to 3 ¾ hours per week
  • Permanent and casual contracts available

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with children and ideally has experience of working with children aged 4-11 years
  • Has a good standard of general education and ideally a qualification at NVQ level 2 in an appropriate childcare/education related subject although this is not essential
  • Has a basic understanding of food hygiene and willingness to undertake basic qualifications
  • Has an understanding of safeguarding
  • Is able to communicate well with a wide range of groups and individuals
  • Is a team player whilst also able to work on their own initiative
