Business Support Assistant - Receptionist . Temporary until 19 July 2026 job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone who is friendly, enthusiastic and well organised. We are looking for a hardworking person who is all of these things to join our busy Business Support Team.
The position is part time and the hours of work will be 7:45am to 1:00pm Monday to Friday.
The hours are term time plus 5 Inset days with a further 5 days to be worked during the school holidays.
Our receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors to school and so we are looking for someone who is welcoming and friendly whilst also being well organised and able to manage the wide range of queries and requests received every day.
Our Business Support Team is dedicated to ensuring that the day-by-day operations of the school run smoothly. You will be a valuable part of achieving this.
Duties will be varied and will include welcoming visitors as they arrive in school, keeping the school diary up to date, updating pupil records, preparing rooms ahead of meetings and generally assisting in the day-to-day work of our very busy office.
The successful candidate will:
Have an excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
Be conscientious, efficient, honest and friendly
Have good general administrative skills, including experience of a range of ICT packages and basic office skills
Be able to multi task
Be able to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
Full training on the IT packages used in school will be provided but a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word is essential.
A positive attitude to hard work and adaptability will be essential.
