Business Support Officer - Finance job summary

This role is part-time and you will be working 28 hours per week, term time plus 1 day for whole staff training.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and organised individual to further develop their professional skills in a highly effective, fast-paced environment.

As part of your role, you will assist the Finance and Business Managers with a variety of essential tasks, including:

  • Raising purchase orders and monitoring requests
  • Processing invoices and managing expenditure
  • Maintaining accurate records in the school's FMS system
  • Reconciling bank accounts, including school funds
  • Liaising with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Handling departmental calls and responding to emails
  • Contributing to income generation by sourcing and managing bids
  • Organising school trips and uploading necessary documentation to Evolve

The successful candidate will have strong Excel skills, be self-motivated, and capable of prioritising a diverse workload. Experience with FMS and ParentPay will be advantageous, but full training will be given.

You will be fully supported by both the Finance Manager and School Business Manager to ensure you thrive in this role.
