What skills and experience we're looking for
The Business Support Officer is responsible for supporting with the administrative, financial and organisational processes within the school. They will also act as the initial point of contact for parents, visitors and other stakeholders so will be an ambassador for the school and embody the value, vision and ethos of the school in all interactions.
As well as providing general reception duties and administrative support, this role also has responsibility for managing the children's milk orders and the recording of medical and dietary requirements so experience in these areas would be useful, but not essential.
A typical day would include attendance administration, collecting/delivery children safely to and from the classroom, being the first point of contact for parents and visitors arriving at the school, dealing with telephone and face-to-face enquiries, passing on information to relevant staff members as necessary and controlling access to the school in line with the school’s safeguarding procedures, including signing-in visitors, checking identification as necessary, issuing passes and notifying them of safeguarding and safety procedures.
Previous experience of working in a primary school would be advantageous but not essential.
