SEN Personal Care Assistant

Salary: Grade 1 point 2 £22,366 pro rata (approx £11,699 per annum)

Job term: Fixed Term from 1.9.2024 to 31.8.2025

Appointment: 39 weeks (term time only plus one week) , Monday - Friday 10 am – 2.30 pm, 22.5 hrs per week

Can you provide exceptional care, guidance and support, so that pupils thrive and make excellent progress in their personal development?

We are looking to appoint a Personal Care Assistant and the main duties include:

providing personal care

supervising children and encouraging them in positive play and behaviours

supporting children with other care needs such as feeding and positioning

Ideally you will have experience of working with children in a similar role, although training can be given. We offer excellent support to our staff ensuring that all staff get the additional support and training that they need and opportunities to build upon their experience.

Our school caters for children from 3 to 16 with complex physical, medical and sensory needs. We have an evolving school population of 100+ pupils with ever more complex needs. Our special school is in purpose built accommodation, has an outstanding reputation for the personal development or our pupils and holds inclusion at its heart. We were rated Good (Ofsted November 2021).

There are over one hundred multi-disciplinary staff on site, working to meet our children's educational, health, physical and emotional development.
