Careers and Exams Lead job summary

The Trust oversite for careers and examinations fulfils a key role, as they will take responsibility for ensuring all aspects of statutory compliance are met with regards to careers and exam/accreditation administration across the Trust. Whilst schools will remain responsible for managing the day-to-day meeting of the statutory careers requirements and the accreditation/exam processes in line with the yearly exam calendar for areas assigned to this post, the Trust oversite for careers and examinations will maintain detailed and current knowledge of, and compliance around, careers and awarding body/JCQ requirements for all settings, ensuring they are working in line with expectations and requirements. As part of this role the Trust oversite for careers and examinations will interpret and disseminate this information, through the provision of regular update reports in terms of compliance to the CEOO, CEO and Trust Board.

The Trust oversite for careers and examinations will therefore work in liaison with the schools’ career and exam leads, as well as wider stakeholders as appropriate to ensure compliance; this may include teaching and administrative staff colleagues, senior management, awarding body contacts and inspectors as well as students and parents.

In order to ensure excellence and compliance the Trust oversite for careers and examinations will be responsible for providing support to staff as required, assisting with recruitment as necessary linked to these key areas of responsibility, providing guidance and training to staff, supporting with inspections and reviews linked to these areas of responsibility, attending college meetings and forums in their absence, and supporting and sharing work with the Trust Cognitive Assessment Lead, and school SENDCOs as appropriate.
