Careers Coordinator job summary
Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding challenge working with young people? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
The role
We are appointing a new Careers Coordinator to join our outstanding academy from January 2022. The successful candidate will be a professional person with the ability to inspire and coach our young people through high-quality careers advice. They will be able to help all students at KAA understand their career options by connecting them with industry experts for work experience, delivering presentations to all year groups, organising trips and developing a programme of careers events throughout the school year – all designed to broaden our student’s aspirations for the future.
What you offer
You will be a positive person, with the organisation and communication skills required to effectively manage the careers provision here at the academy. You will be reflective and resilient in the face of setbacks, and be open to making improvements to the systems and processes around you.
Previous school experience is not essential but having an understanding of a careers provision and its responsibilities within an academy like ours – from experience at other schools, colleges, libraries or community centres - is advantageous. We may prioritise applications from candidates who have obtained or are working towards their professional qualification in careers guidance but this is not an essential requirement for the application process at this stage.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work
satisfactory references
suitability to work with children
You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
