We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working caretaker to join our Tacolneston and Morley Federation staff team. The role is to work under the direction of the Trust Estates team and Federation Executive Headteacher to ensure the school premises and contents are properly maintained, secured and ready for use as well as helping to ensure that the school is clean and tidy.
The hours worked are 15 hours per week, split across both schools at Tacolneston and Morley. Previously this has been 2 shifts of 5 hours at Morley and 1 shift of 5 hours at Tacolneston but the arrangement of the days and hours is flexible by agreement with the Executive Headteacher. There is a 24-hour responsibility to respond to premises security issues. However, keyholding, opening and lock-up is shared among senior staff at both schools and therefore is not a daily task at the schools for the caretaker.
We would love to hear from you if:
The successful applicant will have a good knowledge of the basic principles of site management, the ability to work with minimum supervision and resolve problems independently and the ability to carry out cleaning, maintenance and manual tasks as detailed in the job description.
Working Hours
The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate at interview but will fall within our academy hours of Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 19:00.
