Caretaker job summary
The Pioneer Academy is seeking to employ a caretaker to work across two rural schools within the trust. These schools are Halstead Community Primary School and Shoreham Village Primary School. This role is part time, working 20 hours a week, 52 weeks per year beginning with 10 hours per week at Shoreham and 7.5 hours at Halstead Primary School, this will the raise to 10 hours per week at each school from September 2025. The working hours will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the premises and grounds are safe, warm, clean and properly maintained
- Movement of heavy goods.
- Cleaning responsibilities including supervision, organisation and monitoring of cleaners, ordering cleaning materials, clearing of paths, drains, gullies etc. and salting frozen paths.
- Maintenance duties including general handyperson repairs to furniture and fabric, reporting when more major repairs are required, directing contractors.

Shoreham Village School is situated in the heart of the Darenth Valley in North West Kent.
