Glebe Farm School is part of the Inspiring Futures through Learning, Multi-Academy Trust. The IFtL Trust is committed to developing a family of schools whose purpose is to inspire the futures of us all through learning together.
We are looking for an experienced individual to join the team to assist with the maintenance, security and keyholding of Glebe Farm School during evenings and weekends. This is an exciting role for someone looking for a new challenge. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in supporting our lettings and community outreach programmes. The Caretaker will provide an on-site cleaning/caretaking service and keyholder duties.
Aim and main purpose of the job (including but not limited to)
- Operate and regularly check systems such as heating, cooling, lighting and security (including CCTV and alarms).
- Undertake minor repairs to site, furniture and fittings (i.e., not requiring a craftsperson) and maintenance of the buildings and site
- Undertake regular health and safety checks of buildings, grounds, fixtures and fittings, (including compliance with fire safety regulations) and equipment, in line with other schedules
- To be responsible for the heating and lighting of the premises including necessary frost precautions. To report system failures to the appropriate person.
- To be responsible for the routine and non-routine (e.g., emergencies) opening and closing of the premises during evenings and weekends. To report trespass, theft or unauthorised parking of vehicles to the appropriate person.
The role will be primarily based at Glebe Farm School, Wavendon, Milton Keynes.
