Caretaker job summary
We are seeking a Caretaker to join our site team here at Moorlands Junior School.
The successful candidate will need to have practical skills and be reliable as well as flexible and enjoy working in a busy school environment. Any previous experience of caretaking would be desirable, although not essential. The candidate will have good communication skills to work as part of a team and alongside another caretaker within the school. Basic computer skills are required.
Responsibilities
- The security of the premises - to include the opening up and locking of premises
- Undertaking a range of minor maintenance work
- To assist in arranging for major maintenance to be carried out
- Health & Safety checks throughout the school
We are looking to offer a contract of a minimum of 29 hours to a maximum of 37 hour per week, weekdays only (depending on the candidates availability). The hours of work will start at 7am every day to open the building, or alternate weeks with the other caretaker with the 7am 'early shift', and a 'late shift' locking up the buildings to finish at 6pm.
