What skills and experience we're looking for
This role is based at Wallsend St Peter's Church of England Primary School.
We're seeking to appoint a caretaker to join our school with a range of practical skills who is competent with DIY duties. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, so it's key that you have a flexible approach to your work. You will need to respond and react to a changing work pattern, and the need to plan ahead is essential to help manage the maintenance of the school site.
Day to day, your role will be varied and you'll be responsible for maintenance, security, and health and safety of the school site. Taking direction from the Headteacher with support from the Trust Estates and Premises Manager, we're looking for someone who has:
- Experience of working within a similar role or willing to learn the role.
- The necessary experience or qualification within a certain relevant trade.
- Strong ICT and organisation skills and clarity.
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
