Caretaker
37 hours per week, full year (Flexible working pattern including weekends. The exact hours of work will be discussed with the successful candidate)
Salary: Grade C £18380-£19122 per annum (FTE)
The Whitby Schools Federation consists of three school and college sites set across Whitby, which are Eskdale School, Caedmon College and Whitby Sixth Form College.
The Federation is easily accessible from areas such as Redcar, Guisborough, and Ryedale, as well as from Scarborough and East Yorkshire.
Our Opportunity
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person to this important post of Caretaker. You will be based primarily at Eskdale School although on occasion you will work across at Whitby Sixth Form College, and also support our partner school, Caedmon College.
As our new Caretaker you will provide a highly effective caretaking service to ensure our school site is safe, secure and fit for purpose for all students, staff and visitors.
What you will need to succeed:
• An understanding and awareness of health and safety
• Experience of undertaking general caretaking and general cleaning duties
• Excellent organisation and team working skills
• Ideally experience of working with young people, parents and the community
• Responsible for the supervision and issue of equipment alongside on occasion working with tools and cleaning equipment
• Use own initiative especially when lone working
• A love of working outdoors in all weathers is essential!
