Caretaker / Site Manager job summary
37 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
We are seeking to appoint a care taker/site manager. An enthusiastic and committed individual is required to work with the site cleaning team and the trust, ensuring the school premises and facilities are presented and maintained to the highest standards. Previous experience in a school environment would be of great advantage. Overtime may be available from time to time, depending on the needs of the school, events planned and time of year.
Key tasks will include:
Undertaking site security and fire alarms, including locking and unlocking premises
Take a proactive role in identifying and implementing improvements to site security.
Supervising the work of contractors on site General porterage, furniture, equipment and room set up
Have an understanding of Health and Safety within the school environment or be willing to learn
Site cleaning and working alongside the cleaning team
General site maintenance
Monitoring of planned maintenance, site maintenance, weekly checks and repairs through the online system - i Am Compliant.
Grounds maintenance
Good communication skills, the ability to work effectively with others in school and to work without direct supervision is essential.
Working alongside the trust estate managers, school business manager and office manager to ensure high standards and best value are met.
Be available to answer emergencies outside of regular working hours and pre - planned lettings
Ensure that any lettings of the school comply with the Trust lettings policy and any breaches are logged.
Personal qualities required are a flexible attitude, willingness to undertake practical tasks, a commitment to high standards and attention to detail.
