30 hours a week, Term Time + 3 weeks in the school holidays

St Christopher’s are seeking to appoint a motivated, and well-qualified Caretaker to maintain and improve our academy building and grounds.

  • Identify, plan, deliver and review a programme of maintenance, repair and improvement which will ensure the academy is exemplary in appearance, safety & accessibility.

  • Be flexible on working hours and be available outside of normal academy times. (A typical working day will be: 7.00 to 9.30 am and 3.00-6.30pm).

  • Be responsible for the security of the site including opening and locking up daily, regular fire alarm checks and key holding.

  • Have very good skills relevant to repair and decoration, building improvement, outdoor maintenance, cleaning and an eye for detail.

  • Support the cleaning team of 2 staff.

  • Use IT skills to competently complete logs, ordering, H&S reports and access email and other shared systems used by all staff.

  • Follow academy and MAC policy and procedures to ensure the safeguarding, security and excellent education of our pupils is paramount.

  • Work collaboratively to enhance strong relationships with MAC colleagues, staff, governors, parents and other professionals.

  • Contribute to the strong Catholic ethos of our academy.
