The Foundation’s central offices are based at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College campus set in beautiful grounds.

This role is based at The County High School, Leftwich, which is a high performing, fully inclusive, co-educational, 11-16 school with approximately 1050 students, 60 teaching and 60 support staff. The school serves a mixed catchment area with a Published Admission Number of 210, and we are now significantly over-subscribed.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Caretaker to join our school. Our school is where students enjoy and achieve during their time here and we strive to ensure our colleagues are motivated, happy, supported and have satisfaction from their role.

The purpose of the Caretaker role is to help maintain the smooth operation of the school, ensuring that it is a comfortable, safe, and secure environment for all our students, staff, and visitors alike.

Responsibilities include maintaining the school building, including the multi-use games area (MUGA), the outside hard play surfaces, carrying out repairs, improvements, and general maintenance tasks to ensure the school and site are maintained in a satisfactory condition that meets the required standards.

Predominately working from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, this role does have on call duties on a rota basis ad has a requirement to cover holidays and absences where necessary. It is essential therefore that you are able to demonstrate a high level of flexibility.

Your Responsibilities

What we are looking for

  • An accredited qualification in Joinery, Electrical or Plumbing
  • Understanding of all aspects of Health & Safety
  • Literate and numerate
  • Willingness to undertake training.
  • High level of flexibility
