Casual Leisure Attendant job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual with relevant experience and knowledge to join our team as Casual Leisure Attendant & Cleaner, as soon as possible.

PURPOSE OF POST

  • To welcome visitors into the sports facilities giving help and advice on the facilities/activities available.
  • To open and close the sports facilities.
  • Undertake the cleaning of the facility, monitoring equipment and reporting repair and damage.

KEY AREAS

  • You will ensure that visitors are welcomed into the sports facilities giving help and advice on the facilities/activities available.
  • You will be responsible for undertaking cleaning of the facility, erecting and dismantling of equipment, general upkeep, monitoring of equipment, reporting repair and damage, dealing on the spot with minor repairs and replacements and preventing misuse and abuse of facilities. Also it is require that you ensure the grounds are free from litter and are well maintained and the car park is used properly.
  • You will be required to assume the responsibility for the opening and locking sports facilities safely and correctly.
  • You will be required to maintain an efficient diary and keep accurate records of facility usage.
  • A record of equipment will be maintained and you will inform management of any repairs, maintenance and replacements needed.
  • As part of your duties you will be expected to operate a computerised booking system.
  • You will be required to monitor the facilities during use ensuring all customers adhere to the code of conduct.
  • Report any issues with the booking facility directly to their Line Manager through appropriate channels.
  • In order to promote access to the sports facilities you will keep the local communities and user groups informed of current opportunities, you will promote sports and leisure usage and encourage/support sports events and competitions.
  • You will help to maintain a healthy and safe school by following service instructions for the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment and reporting any problems or hazards to the Senior Caretaker.

Miscellaneous

  • Carry out your duties with due regard to current and future Council policies, procedures and relevant legislation. These will be drawn to your attention in your appointment letter, your statement of particulars, induction, ongoing performance development and through Council communications.
  • As part of your wider duties and responsibilities you are required to promote and actively support the Councils responsibilities towards safeguarding. Safeguarding is about keeping people safe and protecting people from harm, neglect, abuse and injury. It is about creating safe places, being vigilant and doing something about any concerns you might have. It isn’t just about the very old and the very young, it is about everyone who may be vulnerable.
