We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our friendly team at Queen Katherine School. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in providing nutritious, balanced meals to students and staff in a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities- Work as part of a team to prepare and serve meals in line with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Prepare dining areas for service, including setting up and clearing furniture and equipment.
- Assist with food preparation, portion control, and labelling of pre-packaged items.
- Operate tills and handle transactions as required.
- Wash and clean catering equipment, crockery, and utensils using both manual and automated methods.
- Maintain cleanliness of all catering areas to agreed standards.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with deliveries, and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Support the school’s ethos and comply with safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection policies.
- Participate in training and development as required.
- A team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow food safety guidelines and maintain high hygiene standards.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the school.
- Some experience of the catering industry.
