Catering Assistant job summary

Provide catering support in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages plus related catering duties.

The successful individual will not necessarily have experience of working in a provision for pupils with special needs; irrespective of your experience, training will be fully provided and form part of the school induction process for all staff.

The salary for this role is £23,656 to £24,404 pro rata which equates to £13,628 to £ 14,059 per year.

The opportunity:

  • Permanent
  • 25 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday: 9am to 2pm
  • This is a term-time plus 1 week position equating to 39 weeks per year. Your pay will be pro rata, you will receive 1/12th of your salary every month, regardless of whether its school holidays or not

You will become an integral part of the school team, supporting with the preparation and serving of lunches for our pupils and school staff.

Upholding our high level of hygiene and cleanliness is vital which includes setting up service areas from the kitchen or dining areas, so they are ready to enjoy mealtimes and tidying away once service is completed.

If you have previous catering experience, then we would love to hear from you. However, this is not essential as full training will be provided.

We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills, ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively, embraces change well and deals with difficult situations effectively.
