Catering Assistant job summary

Permanent – Part-time, 10 hours per week, Term Time only (including 5 Training days) 39 weeks per year (0.2345 FTE). Working hours Monday-Friday 10am - 12pm

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Catering Assistant to join our team preparing and serving school lunches to our children, staff and visitors at Queen’s Park Academy. You will undertake basic cooking of food as required by the Catering Manager to the standards specified by Food Hygiene and School policies. Maintain standards of food handling, food hygiene and cleanliness in line with School policies. Assist with serving meals and cleaning duties as required by the Catering Manager within the kitchen or dining room, including general washing up and cleaning away.

Ensure all food is prepared, cooked and served in strict accordance with the School's published menu and with the Government's School Food Standards.

Assist in the delivery of any special dietary, emergency, and hospitality catering as required.

Understand and work within all school policies and procedures and comply with the Health & Safety policy.

Previous experience of cooking for large numbers in an industrial, educational or similar environment is essential. The duties and responsibilities above describe the post as it is at present. The post holder is expected to accept any reasonable alterations that may from time to time be necessary.
