What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a Catering Manager to join our team!

37 hours per week, Term Time only (plus inset days & 8 days in the school holidays)

As our Catering Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage a busy kitchen delivering a high-quality school catering service.
  • Ensure that work is carried out hygienically, safely and tidily at all times within the prevailing legislative framework.
  • Plan varied and nutritious menus in advance.
  • Be responsible for the financial and administrative tasks associated with ordering food and sundries, including checking delivery notes and invoices.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures with regard to health and safety and hygiene are understood by all kitchen staff and adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that the kitchen areas are kept clean and hygienic and kitchen equipment is maintained and used safely at all times.

We are looking for:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience of managing or supervising a team.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths).
  • Someone who is highly organised, personable and who enjoys working at pace.
  • Enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate a team.
