As a Catering Manager at Newlands Spring Primary and Nursery School, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our students receive nutritious and delicious meals that fuel their minds and bodies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional requirements of students, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and serving.
- Oversee the ordering and inventory management of food and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Lead a team of kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high standards of food quality and service.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and students to gather feedback and continuously improve the catering service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Catering Manager or similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Excellent culinary skills and creativity in menu planning.
- Effective leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Understanding of budgeting and cost control principles.

We offer a competitive salary on Scale 6 or 7 (dependent on experience) for this part-time position of 27.5 hours per week term time plus 5 additional days during closure periods.
