Cello Teacher (Self-Employed) job summary

The successful candidate will have a passion for music education and able to inspire, challenge and motivate our pupils to achieve their full potential and perform to a high standard.

This is a self-employed role where you will invoice and receive payment directly from parents. There may also be opportunities for additional paid work supporting co-curricular ensembles, concerts and other music events.

Self-employed music teachers are responsible for organising their own teaching timetable, with support available from the Music Administrator where required. The postholder will work closely with the Director of Music and the wider Music Department.

The role is expected to involve approximately 3 hours of teaching per week during term time, condensed into one day, with potential to grow these numbers. Lesson fees are agreed between the self-employed teacher and parents; however, the School signposts parents to the Musicians’ Union minimum hourly rate (currently £44 per hour) as a guide.

For further information please call Mr Samuel Austin, Director of Music on 01759 321200
