You should be passionate about developing and supporting the needs of the whole child and committed to enabling all pupils to achieve their potential.
The role involves providing leadership and management of operational functions in the Centre as well as overseeing the delivery of a high-quality educational programme and to monitor pupil progress. We are looking for a qualified teacher with tenacity, positivity and experience of teaching. You should have QTS and a track record as a consistently good practitioner along with successful experience of leadership and management.

What the school offers its staff
James Brindley is a stand-alone Academy based in a wide variety of locations across the City of Birmingham. In the course of a school year we educate over 3,000 pupils for periods ranging from a few days in hospital to several years in one of our teaching centres. The majority of our young people have complex medical needs and many have been out of education for a significant period of time prior to joining the Academy.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

James Brindley is a specialist academy which aims to provide a high quality education in a safe, supportive and aspirational environment for all children and young people unable to attend mainstream school because of health related or special educational needs.
We provide education for children and young people aged 2 – 19 who are in hospital or unable to attend mainstream school due to their medical conditions or special educational needs.
James Brindley Academy delivers education across 10 sites including teaching centres and hospitals throughout Birmingham.
