Charmouth Primary School is a school which is uniquely situated almost on the beach on the beautiful Jurassic Coast. The school is a place where everyone grows together to become the very best versions of themselves, through highlighting and celebrating success for each of the 79 pupils.
We are seeking an inspiring and visionary school leader to lead our school community and continue to foster a learning environment that empowers every child to realise their full potential.
Role overview
As the Head of School, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our school. You will lead a team of dedicated educators and support staff, and embrace our culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. Your passion for education and commitment to child-centred learning will ensure the school goes from strength to strength.
Charmouth is part of the First Federation Trust; you will benefit from collaboration and support with other schools, leaders and teams from across the Trust.
Responsibilities
Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to embed and promote the vision and values of the school.
Lead teaching and learning to ensure pupil achievement and continually evaluate and improve approaches to teaching and learning.
Develop yourself and your team, maintaining a culture of high expectations of yourself and others.
Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the school, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources.
Ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils, promoting a secure and nurturing school environment that celebrates diversity, inclusion and equality.
About you
We want our new Head of School to have:
Qualified Teacher Status and a proven track record of effective teaching experience in a primary school setting.
A degree in education.
Significant leadership experience, preferably as a Head of School, or Deputy Headteacher, or Headteacher.
A deep understanding of current educational practice, pedagogy and curriculum development.
Demonstrable ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
A passion for education and a commitment to empowering pupils to reach their full potential.
