About this Role

An amazing opportunity is available join the brand new Tiffield Academy as Chef Manager! Tiffield Academy, an all-through special free school for autistic students who have severe learning difficulties (SLD) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), which opened its doors in September 2025 in a purpose-built new building and you could be part of this.

Our Chef Manager will lead the catering team to provide lunch time meals for our students.

Qualifications and Experience

It would be desirable for you to:

  • Have experience of working in an education setting.
  • Be familiar with ordering, budgeting and accounts.
  • Be familiar with completing Risk assessments.
  • Have knowledge of Government Nutritional Standards and Allergy Awareness.
  • Be trained to a Level 3 NVQ in Food preparation and Supervision (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this.
  • Hold an up-to-date level 2/3 Food Safety Certificate.

Tiffield Academy is the newest addition to the special academy portfolio within the very successful Greenwood Academies Trust. The academy opened its doors in September 2025 and will be welcoming up to 140 students in its first year and growing to 230 students over subsequent years. The purpose-built new building has been designed with the students’ needs at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts with good sized classrooms, quiet spaces for group work and calming spaces as well as sensory rooms. There are dedicated rooms for Food Technology, Art and Science as well as workspaces for staff. Thought has been put into the exterior design too, including an outdoor games area, sensory garden and horticulture area planned.
