Chemistry and Biology Teacher job summary

Required for September 2022 or as soon as possible afterwards The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our successful Science department to teach Chemistry and Biology to KS4 and General Science to KS3. You will join a leading department in a heavily over-subscribed academy. The Science department is staffed with a mixture of experienced teachers, ECTs and two technicians, all with a commitment to continuous school improvement. We have a suite of dedicated Science laboratories, all with newly installed up to date technology, plus a recently refurbished lab and Sixth Form facilities. You will be keen to promote the Science department and improve upon the opportunities available to our students.

The Highcrest Academy is fully committed to safeguarding children (policies on web). All members of staff are in a “regulated” role under the Vetting & Barring Scheme and have to be DBS cleared prior to employment.

Highcrest offers both an excellent induction and support programme for ECTs and an innovative and extensive CPD package for ECTs and more experienced teachers. In addition as an ECT, you will have weekly CPD meetings with experienced members of staff, weekly time-tabled and protected Mentor Meetings, and subject knowledge time with departments.

Situated in the leafy Chilterns and within easy reach of Central London, Highcrest is culturally and academically diverse and is the only academy in Buckinghamshire that caters for students of ‘all abilities’. Some of our students need all your support, whilst others need to be challenged and stretched.
