What skills and experience we're looking for
Empowering Minds Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer who will be a key member of the trust’ central team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and successful trust and to help in the next stage of its development. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the COO and CEO to manage the MAT finances effectively to fully achieve the MAT’s strategic objectives.
The CFO will lead the central finance team to ensure the efficient execution of budgets, cash flow and financial returns, along with fulfilling audit requirements and implementing good practice.
The ideal candidate will:
- be experienced in a finance leadership role to include budget setting/monitoring, medium term financial planning and cash flow; • have the ability to understand and implement financial frameworks that academy trusts operate within; • will be appropriately qualified and/or experienced as detailed within the Person Specification. It is desirable that the candidate possessing accountancy qualifications from a recognised professional body, such as the ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA; • understand the principles of spending public money wisely in line with best value; • be an effective leader and communicator; • demonstrate proactivity, influence, honesty and possess strong communication skills.
