We are a growing Trust of 3 schools (2 secondary, 1 primary) with an additional primary school currently in the commercial transfer phase of joining.
Our growth provides the opportunity for us to evolve and enhance what we do, constantly looking for new approaches to accelerate improvement. All of our schools are rated “Good” or “Outstanding” and we have a strong financial track record but we always want to do better.
A member of our team is retiring, providing an exciting opportunity to join our Executive Team and help shape our future. The role of Chief Operations Officer will lead the financial and business functions of the Trust including finance, procurement, HR and estates. They will provide strategic leadership and supportive management of these central teams and collaboratively work with the rest of the Executive Team to strive for excellence throughout the Trust.
If you have strong leadership and people management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven track record in the sector we would love to hear from you. We would encourage applicants from either a business or finance background and will adapt the job description for the right candidate depending on skills, experience and strengths.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Executive Team, to establish a prominent level of visibility, credibility and professionalism across the Trust and externally within the sector.
- To oversee central business operational teams, including Finance, HR, Estates ensuring delivery of high quality services to all our schools.
- To lead on longer term strategic planning including Estates Strategy, People Strategy and Financial Strategy.
- To provide accurate and comprehensive reporting and advice to the CEO and Trustees, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Oversee risk management and financial compliance.

- A clear understanding of financial and business planning, particularly within the education sector.
- Ability to manage risk and oversee compliance in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
