Thank you for your interest in applying for a post in our school. We are simply looking for someone who
compliments our team, is committed to providing excellence for pupils and is clear that their role can make a
difference to the lives of our children.

Arbourthorne Community Primary School is an OfSTED rated good school with outstanding Personal
Development. We have approximately 475 pupils on roll at any time but manage to create a ‘family’ atmosphere
despite being a larger than average primary school.
There is a strong sense of team in our school and a very positive and friendly atmosphere. The school serves an
area of high social deprivation and staff have worked with great determination to improve the life chances of our
pupils. Behaviour is good in the school and an outstanding pastoral team provide additional support for the most
vulnerable children and families. We all have a strong sense of collective responsibility to our pupils and every
child is everybody’s business!

We offer excellent facilities for our children and families. We have a healthy budget and are resource rich and are
able to offer high quality training opportunities for colleagues.

We have a 78-place full-time equivalent Nursery. There are two foundation classes and four classes in KS1.
In KS2 there are eight classes, two in each year group. We also have a 14 place Integrated Resource Unit
for pupils with special educational needs. Staff enjoy working in phase teams.

The school is well known locally and nationally for its inclusive approach to education. We believe in the
value of parents, children, governors and staff working together.
We have a strong representation of parents on the governing body. We offer a variety of courses in school
for our parents and community.

Staff work incredibly hard at this school to provide an excellent all round education. We have annual
residentials for Y4, Y6 and Y2 pupils and trips which put the City of Sheffield at the heart of the planning. We
have developed an off-site house which is our life skills centre, offering pupils and their families training in
health, well-being and life skills.
