SEND Class Teacher job summary

The Bridge School is an excellent all-through school for SLD pupils. This is an exciting opportunity to join The Bridge School, part of Unity Schools Partnership. The school facilities are modern and first class, with all the extra special provision you would expect in the best special schools. Candidates may already be working in SEND or may wish to pursue a career in this sector.

Class teachers manage a group of between 8 to 12 pupils and are supported by a team of TAs and a Phase Leader. Our pupils are delightful!

At this exciting time for the school, we are looking for an inspirational Class Teacher with a passion for SEND and a creative, innovative approach to delivering the curriculum, to join us and make an impact on the learning of our students. We are looking for candidates with the motivation and determination to ensure that students make progress and also to improve and boost their experience.

The school serves a catchment area that covers Ipswich and surrounding areas of Suffolk. The whole school is based on one campus, with the primary building constructed and opened in 2015 and a new, purpose-built secondary complex that opened in 2021.

The school is part of a collaborative, forward thinking Academy Trust of 32 schools. Unity Schools Partnership will be creating a network of special schools working together as we have recently opened a new special school in Ipswich, have approval to open two further special schools in Bury St. Edmunds and Romford, as well as already having a special school in Haverhill.

You will be supported in your role by experienced SEND leaders who will be available to offer advice and guidance as the school moves forward under their leadership. Significant training and development are available through opportunities for professional development, research, teacher training and collaboration between schools and across phases.
