Class Teacher job summary
Ref: 18-19/NAP/42872
We are looking for a Class Teacher with the energy, talent and imagination to cover a period of maternity at our academy. We want forward thinking, optimistic people who are ambitious about what can be offered to our children.
The Role
As a Class Teacher for the Primary Phase of our academy you will be expected to engage and enthuse learners through a commitment to great teaching and learning, in all learning spaces both indoors and outdoors. We need people with the energy and passion to help make our curriculum truly memorable. To succeed you must be innovative in your techniques to motivate and inspire children; have the capacity to make great relationships, be a great team player and first class communicator. NQTs and experienced teachers alike are encouraged to apply.
About Us
The Nottingham Academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) is one of the largest 3-19 schools in the country, with its own nursery, primary, secondary and sixth form provision.
We pride ourselves on having an outstanding staff team, committed to providing the best for every child. They encourage the children to develop confidence and independence by ensuring positive attitudes and high standards. Our impressive new buildings provide an excellent learning environment for our younger Academy pupils. The most recent Ofsted in November 2015 judged the academy consistently ‘Good’ and commented that despite its increasing size, it feels calm and orderly and has an atmosphere focused on learning.
In Return
You can be assured that you will be joining a successful Multi Academy Trust that has a great track record in helping children to succeed no matter what their background. The Trust is dedicated to valuing and developing the workforce whether that be through ensuring a fair workload or offering access to bespoke CPD from the Learning Alliance to enhance professional growth.
For NQTs looking to join the Trust you can be assured that we will invest in developing your practice to ensure you succeed. All NQTs are required to attend the NQT development programme where you will be taken through a range of core areas of professional development including induction and training days where all the NQTs from the Trust are brought together.
This training doesn’t stop at NQTs as the Learning Alliance also offers programmes for Teachers looking to develop techniques and strategies to improve classroom practice.
The role is part time, 0.6 FTE and will be fixed term until the post holder returns from maternity.
If this post attracts sufficient interest before the closing date, we may decide to close this vacancy at an earlier date, so an early application is advised.
