What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an exciting opportunity to join special school, part of the Unity Schools Partnership multi-academy trust, which opened in October 2022. You will have the chance to join the lower school team, contributing to shaping provision to transform the lives of generations of children: you will make the difference and be the difference.
We are looking for inspirational Class Teachers with a passion for SEN and a creative, innovative approach to delivering the curriculum, to join us and make an impact on the learning of our students. We are looking for candidates with the motivation and determination to ensure that students make progress, improve their experience of education and prepare them to lead a fulfilling life.
All teachers are expected to teach English and maths. An interest in Art & DT would be an advantage.
What the school offers its staff
Sir Peter Hall School educates young people between the ages of 9-16 who have a wide range of Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. Many of the pupils may also be on the Autistic Spectrum. The school serves a catchment area that covers Bury St Edmunds and surrounding areas of Suffolk.
The school also adds to our network of special schools, alongside Sir Bobby Robson School, Ipswich, The Bridge School, Ipswich and Churchill Special School, Haverhill.
You will be supported in your role by experienced special education leaders who will be available to offer advice and guidance as the school moves forward under their leadership. Significant training and development are available through opportunities for professional development, research, teacher training and collaboration between schools and across phases.
