What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Resilience
  • Kindness & empathy
  • Creativity
  • Willingness to learn and passion for becoming a better teacher

What the school offers its staff

  • At least 70% in-class support, modelling and team teaching from our assistant headteacher in your first term, with further support through the rest of your first year
  • We have had the highest staff attendance in Lewisham for the past two years and we’re always near the top! This is largely because teachers are happy in their jobs, there is a real team spirit and we’ve got the balance right. Teachers work hard but there is flexibility and we don’t waste time on things that don’t really matter. The senior leadership team teach regularly and are very much still in touch with the role!
  • Every teacher gets 3 hours of PPA time each week (statutory is 2 ½ hours) and as an ECT you will get your ECT time on top of this.
  • We offer a pathway to school leadership. In the past 7 years, five of our teachers have gone to leadership positions.
  • We have TAs in each class, a sports coach, dance teacher and a music teacher.
  • We are extremely well-resourced with no shortage of teaching aids e.g. 1:1 iPads across the school, subscriptions to a variety of curriculum materials.
  • We have an excellent curriculum, with investment in resources such as White Rose pupil workbooks and the CUSP curriculum.

Commitment to safeguarding

Children have a right to be cared for and protected, protecting them is everyone’s responsibility. We have a duty of care to ensure that all users of the school are kept safe from harm. We are committed to provide a secure and supportive environment in which children can develop and grow into mature and responsible people. Safeguarding children is an essential part of our holistic approach to ensure that children are protected from abuse and neglect and that every child reaches their full potential.
