Our dedicated team provides a supportive network both onsite as well as support across the Federation to ensure all our staff feel encouraged to do their best. The successful candidate will have:
- QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree
- Successful experience of teaching the primary curriculum
- Good understanding of current theory and best practice in teaching and learning, particularly as it relates to achieving high rates of progress of children of primary age
- Good subject knowledge of core National Curriculum
- Good understanding of child development and progression and how this impacts on planning
- Understanding of effective strategies for managing behaviour within the classroom and in accordance with the school's policy
- An understanding of equal opportunity issues and how they can be addressed in schools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Harris Junior Academy Carshalton (HJAC) opened in September 2013.
We are a three-form entry school situated in Carshalton, which is part of the London Borough of Sutton. Our children, aged between 7 and 11 years of age, bring a wonderful amount of energy and enthusiasm to our school.
HJAC is very much a community school. We are inclusive and we strive to ensure that every child feels happy, valued and safe. Harris Junior Academy Carshalton opened in September 2013. We are a three-form entry school situated in Carshalton, which is part of the London Borough of Sutton. Our children, aged between 7 and 11 years of age, bring a wonderful amount of energy and enthusiasm to our school.
We have more than 300 lively young minds at our Academy. Our dedicated teachers and support staff build on the children’s learning from the infant school to support each to be the best they can be.
Academy Ethos:
At Harris Junior Academy Carshalton we want our school to be a calm and caring learning community in which everyone feels safe, happy and valued.
We give each child all the time and attention that they need to develop their reading, writing and maths skills.
