Admiral Long is a small village primary school situated between Harrogate and Ripon in the beautiful Nidderdale countryside and the Governors are seeking to appoint a teacher for a term in 2021 and the academic year of 2022/23. We are a warm and welcoming school where the staff endeavour to bring out the best in each child and have high expectations in terms of pupil learning and behaviour.
At Admiral Long CE Primary School, through our Christian values and ethos, we provide a welcoming environment in which everyone is cherished and challenged to fulfil their potential.
The learning environment and education provision that is offered to our children keeps the traditional village primary school successes while at the same time embraces the future. Our teachers benefit from a team of highly skilled Teaching Assistants that play an important part in school life. Life at our school is calm, purposeful and fun.
We have smaller than average classes, and highly supportive staff, governors, families and community. By having two schools working together, our EYFS, KS1 and KS2 teachers share subject leadership, curriculum ideas and best practice.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher who has:
A strong vision that supports our values and ethos
A professional who has an engaging and dynamic style of teaching which fosters independence and resilience and inspires children to follow their interests and ambitions
High expectations of pupils and a commitment to providing an exciting, creative and high quality learning environment
A flair and passion for education who will embrace working and teaching within our school and bring new ideas and practices to engage both the children
The ability to monitor children and to use the data to ensure pupil progress
A personable nature, good sense of humour and the ability to work well as part of the Admiral Long team
A desire to be involved in the full life of the school and to engage in co-operative work with staff from our collaborated school in Birstwith.

About Admiral Long Church of England Primary School
Admiral Long C E Primary School is a village school in the heart of the local community but which also embraces children from other villages and the nearby towns of Harrogate and Ripon. It is a friendly and welcoming environment into which new pupils quickly settle. The children are split into 2 classes and the small class sizes allow individually tailored education for all pupils. This means that all the children make good progress both academically and in their social and emotional development.
The school works collaboratively with Birstwith C E Primary School, sharing a headteacher, and staff and children of the two schools meet to work and play together regularly.
