Class Teacher and SENDCO job summary

Edenthorpe Hall Academy have an exciting opportunity for a Class Teacher & SENDCO to join their team!

As Class Teacher & SENDCO, you will:

  • Play a critical role in ensuring that children with special educational needs and disabilities within a school receive the support they need. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEN policy​.
  • To maintain a high standard of quality care and education through an excellent balanced, varied, and fun curriculum. ​
  • To teach children, in accordance with academy aims and policies and National Curriculum requirements, to achieve their maximum potential.
  • To promote the welfare of children within the academy and to safeguard their interests at all times.​

We are looking for:

  • Evidence of working with SEND students to achieve expected and better progress
  • Experience of teaching, learning and assessment at KS1/KS2
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • An accredited qualification for the teaching and assessment of students with specific learning difficulties

We are a small school organised in single age classes and pride ourselves on our family feel. Our curriculum is exciting, relevant and broad so that we are equipping our children with the knowledge and skills to fulfil their future ambitions. We constantly seek to open up every possible opportunity for them and the wellbeing of every member of our school family is at the heart of everything we do.
