Class teacher at a primary school for children with special educational needs job summary
The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a mainscale or UPS teacher on a permanent contract to start on 1st September 2022. We are looking for a teacher who has a keen interest in teaching children with a range of special needs. A commitment to working as a member of a team is essential. At Fort Royal, we expect all staff to be committed to teaching across the age and ability range. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping the school continue to move forward in meeting the needs of a wide variety of children.

We are a community primary special school situated in the heart of the city of Worcester with a very dedicated and enthusiastic team who are committed to providing the best possible education and care. We also develop independence and social awareness in our wonderful pupils to prepare them for productive and successful lives.
We are proud to be a school for all pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan that identifies a specialist placement is required. Our class groups contain a broad range of needs as our philosophy is not to organise pupils by category of need or ability so all classes have between 9 and 11 pupils of mixed abilities, which we feel works really well and benefits all pupils.
