If you have high aspirations for children and families, high aspirations for your own career and a genuine love of teaching, Athelstan Primary School would really like to hear from you! We are looking for teachers to become part of Team Athelstan.
Prior to the pandemic, our pupils generally achieved well, often exceeding national standards in formal tests. Just as importantly, however, we believe that the broader provision we offer our pupils is crucial to developing the whole child and his or her unique interests and talents. Our varied curriculum has enabled us to achieve many awards, recognising the high quality of our subject leadership and delivery; these include the Primary Science Gold quality mark, the Gold Sports’ mark, the Silver Arts’ mark and the Silver Geography mark. In addition to these awards, we were also granted Green Flag Eco-school status in summer 2021.
For a number of years, we were the model school for Read, Write, Inc in Sheffield until this system stopped last year.
