Class Teacher job summary

If you have high aspirations for children and families, high aspirations for your own career and a genuine love of teaching, Athelstan Primary School would really like to hear from you! We are looking for teachers to become part of Team Athelstan.

Prior to the pandemic, our pupils generally achieved well, often exceeding national standards in formal tests. Just as importantly, however, we believe that the broader provision we offer our pupils is crucial to developing the whole child and his or her unique interests and talents. Our varied curriculum has enabled us to achieve many awards, recognising the high quality of our subject leadership and delivery; these include the Primary Science Gold quality mark, the Gold Sports’ mark, the Silver Arts’ mark and the Silver Geography mark. In addition to these awards, we were also granted Green Flag Eco-school status in summer 2021.
For a number of years, we were the model school for Read, Write, Inc in Sheffield until this system stopped last year.

This vacancy could be in Foundation Stage, KS1 or KS2, as our staffing for next year has not yet been finalised. Please specify your preferred age range on your application; we welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECT’s) and experienced teachers. ● Have a desire to play an active role in the development of the school and to use their own skills, talents and interests for the benefit of children

In return we will offer you: a happy welcoming school; willing, friendly children; supportive, hard-working staff with shared high expectations; a strong driven, forward thinking Leadership, with a strong emphasis on the health and well-being of staff, and achieving a good work-life balance.
