What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to recruit Teachers who:

- share the vision, values and inclusive practice of our school;

- are highly competent and skilful classroom practitioners;

- are committed to ensuring the academic progress and social and emotional development of the children they teach;

- are invested in and committed to improving their classroom practice, especially through evidence informed research;

- can work and communicate effectively within a team;

- is a competent user of technology – such as iPads – to enhance pupil learning and outcomes;

- has recent experience of teaching across the primary age including early years;

- has experience of or interest in working with autistic children and pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs or specific learning difficulties

- has a specialism or interest in a particular curriculum area; particularly music or scienc

Essential

1 A DfE recognised and relevant teaching qualification.

2 Able to design and teach effective lessons and learning activities across the relevant curriculum, age and attainment ranges

3 Recent experience of teaching in a primary classroom including early years

4 A good knowledge and understanding of core subjects and the relevant statutory and non-statutory curricula / frameworks.

5 A good, up to date working knowledge and understanding of evidence informed teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies.

6 Good written communication skills

7 Evidence of relevant and on-going professional development and training

8 Working knowledge of the SEND code of practice and implications for the classroom Application Desirable

9 Qualification (A level / Degree level) in a specific curriculum area; interest in a particular curriculum area – (in particular Music & Art)

10 Able to use mobile technology and applications to promote learning and improve outcomes

11 Experience and understanding of phonics and development of early reading skills

12 Aspirations to develop as a leader

13 Interest in classroom-based research to inform improvements in practice

14 Willing and able to contribute to extra-curricular activities.

15 Knowledge and experience of using specific targeted intervention in core subjects; interventions that promote and restore social and emotional regulation

1 An understanding and ability to set realistic and challenging targets and be able to assess and review learners’ progress.

2 Able to communicate effectively with children, young people, colleagues and parents/carers.

3 Able to engage and motivate learners in the school environment.

5 Be aware of current legislation, policies and guidance on the safeguarding of learners and the promotion of their well being.

6 Able to work collaboratively as member of a team and contribute to the professional development of colleagues, including the sharing effective practice.

7 Able to plan, organise and prioritise and manage time effectively.

8 Good verbal and interpersonal skills

9 Able to use technology knowledge and skills in the learning environment.
