What skills and experience we're looking for

Manor Green Primary is an ‘outstanding’ Special School for children aged 2 -11.

We are a generic learning disability school with a range of special educational and complex learning needs including moderate learning disability, severe learning disability, profound and multiple disability, ASC and other co-occurring needs.

We are looking to appoint a Class Teacher to initially teach in a generic needs class.

The successful candidate will:

  • Ideally have experience of teaching pupils with a range of learning difficulties or a teacher with a commitment to learning how best to support our pupils to achieve their full potential
  • Be resilient and able to demonstrate a positive caring attitude
  • Be committed to working in partnership with families and other professionals
  • Be highly organised and able to plan, deliver and reflect on best practice within the classroom and as part of the wider school
  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner
  • Be committed to ensuring that pupils reach their full potential in a creative, enriching environment
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Be interested in developing their knowledge, skills and understanding of SEN
  • Be adaptable, creative and inspirational

Our school caters for primary children, aged 2 - 11 years who have learning difficulties and additional needs.

The school is organised into Key Stage groups with a senior teacher coordinating each department.
There are 19 classes each with a teacher and two or more special support assistants. We are supported by speech and language therapists, physiotherapist and occupational therapist.

All pupils have an Education Health and Care Plan.
The pupils participate in many specialist and therapeutic activities including hydrotherapy and riding.

The school also prides itself on its links with the wider community through visits and links with other schools.
