What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Have experience of working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)/Social Communication and Interaction Difficulties (SCID) (this is an advantage but is not essential)
  • Have the ability to use ICT effectively to support teaching and learning
  • Have an enthusiastic, imaginative and caring approach to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Be able to work as part of a team and build positive relationships
  • Have high expectations of pupils’ achievements relating to learning, independence and behaviour
  • Have the ability to build positive relationships with students

Further details about the role

Experience of teaching Food Technology (Preparation, Nutrition & Hygiene) at KS3 would be advantageous but is not a necessity. We would also like to hear from experienced HLTAs/TAs/Unqualified Teachers who would like to further their career.

  • To provide examples of good and outstanding teaching practice; including preparation and planning, classroom management and the maintenance of effective working relationships with students and colleagues
  • To organise the effective deployment and direction of Teaching Assistants, within the classroom and support the development of an effective team
  • To support the School Improvement Plan and contribute to the strategic vision of the Head Teacher and Governors
  • To participate in meetings which relate to the school’s management, curriculum,
  • administration or organisation
  • To communicate and co-operate with specialists from outside agencies to provide an effective
  • To ensure that effective communication is maintained with parents/carers about their child’s welfare, progress and participation in our school community
