What skills and experience we're looking for
Join us at Chyngton School and Nursery to make a real difference for pupils in our vibrant coastal community. We are seeking a committed, skilled and compassionate part time Primary Teacher to help deliver excellent learning, build strong relationships with families, and contribute to the continued development of our inclusive two-form-entry school as part of the Seaford Learning Trust.
This is a part time (0.4) classroom teaching role, You will:
- Plan, teach and assess engaging lessons that secure progress for all pupils, using a variety of effective teaching strategies.
- Adapt learning to meet the needs of pupils with SEND, disadvantaged learners and those with other additional needs.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, routines and expectations so pupils feel safe and ready to learn.
- Use assessment and pupil progress data to set ambitious targets and inform next steps in learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents and the wider Trust to support school improvement priorities.
- Contribute to school life beyond the classroom, including parent engagement, transition activities and occasional events.
This role follows the Teachers’ Standards and the school’s safeguarding policies. You will be part of a supportive leadership and governing structure and will help shape the future of the school as it develops new provision in the community.
We are looking for a practitioner who:
- Is a qualified teacher (DfE-recognised) with strong classroom practice in key stage 2.
- Plans and delivers well-sequenced lessons that motivate pupils and secure progress, particularly in writing and maths.
- Has experience adapting teaching for pupils with SEND and other additional needs and can use assessment effectively to target interventions.
- Communicates well with parents and works collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.
- Shows excellent organisational skills, resilience and a commitment to improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.
- Is committed to safeguarding and creating an inclusive classroom where every pupil feels valued.
