What skills and experience we're looking for
Crown Street Primary School are currently looking for an experienced Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team. We are looking for a highly effective and knowledgeable Class Teacher to become part of our excellent, hardworking and creative team, who can contribute to our commitment to providing exceptional teaching and learning experiences. We are looking for an experienced Teacher to undertake this position; therefore, we are unable to accept applications from ECT's.
Our curriculum, and the way in which we deliver it, instils a passion for learning in all our pupils and equips them for successful lives beyond our walls. We consider Personal Social Health Education (PSHE) and the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development of our pupils to be a priority. Our curriculum is intended to teach children the essential knowledge they need in all subject areas and to equip them for successful lives beyond our walls, opening doors to the future of their choice –whatever that may be!
Our ambition is for all pupils to develop a full appreciation of the world in which they are growing up and to feel a sense of awe and wonder about the vastness of human creativity and achievement. We recognise that academic achievement alone is not enough and provide a progressive Enrichment Curriculum as well as an ambitious Academic Curriculum. Both are underpinned by our school mission to provide‘Education on another level, where possibilities are endless’and instil this in all our pupils now, and for their future.
What the school offers its staff
At Crown Street Primary School we provide ‘education on another level, where possibilities are endless’ in a safe and secure environment where pupils are valued and cared for.
We believe that happy children are the best learners, so our curriculum places the personal development of pupils at its heart. We want school to be an enjoyable and exciting place where all our pupils will be encouraged to believe that possibilities are endless. Crown Street Primary School opened in September 2024 and currently has 40 pupils on roll across Pre-School and Reception.
At Crown Primary School, as in each Laurus Trust school, our ethos derives from a firm belief that all pupils are entitled to an outstanding state education, incorporating learning and enrichment opportunities which we offer through our Academic and Enrichment Curriculum. Our ambition is for all pupils to develop a full appreciation of the world in which they are growing up and to understand the opportunities and challenges of the world we live in.
We want our pupils to be equipped to make a positive contribution to their local and global community, now and in the future. We want to empower our children to have their own voice, to know their own mind and be able to change the world for the better.
Our Enrichment Curriculum is best understood through the four cornerstones that underpin it:
- Leadership and Service
- Competition and Physical Endeavour
- Culture, Creativity and Rhetoric
- Academic Aspiration
Reading and books are the bedrock of our academic curriculum, which goes beyond the National Curriculum to ensure all pupils benefit from the very best education. We will teach the powerful knowledge pupils need, in all curriculum areas, for successful lives beyond our walls – opening the doors to a future of their choice – whatever that may be.
We believe that the Early Years is a crucial stage in the education of every pupil this is especially relevant to Crown Street in our opening year, where we have the privilege of being able to immerse ourselves fully in the Early Years Foundation Stage. We treat every child as an individual and we provide just the right amount of challenge and support for them to fulfill their potential.
