This is an exciting opportunity to join The Bridge School, which joined the Unity Schools Partnership multi academy trust in June 2019: it is full of delightful pupils with a dedicated staff team who are ambitious to be ensure that the school provides the very best service to families.
At this exciting time for the school, we are looking for an inspirational Class Teacher with a passion for SEND and a creative, innovative approach to delivering the curriculum, to join us and make an impact on the learning of our students. We are looking for candidates with the motivation and determination to ensure that students make progress and also to improve and boost their experience.
The Bridge Special School is an over-subscribed school educating children and young people between the ages of 4 - 16 who have a wide range of communication, physical, and profound and multiple learning difficulties. Many of the pupils are on the Autistic Spectrum. The school serves a catchment area that covers Ipswich and surrounding areas of Suffolk. The whole school is based on one campus, with the primary building constructed and opened in 2015 and a new, purpose-built secondary complex that opened in 2021.
The school is part of a collaborative, forward thinking Academy Trust of 30 schools. Unity Schools Partnership will be creating a network of special schools working together as we have recently opened a new special school in Ipswich, have approval to open two further special schools in Bury St. Edmunds and Romford, as well as already having a special school in Haverhill.
You will be supported in your role by experienced SEND leaders who will be available to offer advice and guidance as the school moves forward under their leadership. Significant training and development are available through opportunities for professional development, research, teacher training and collaboration between schools and across phases.
