Manorcroft Primary School is a friendly, inclusive two-form entry school for children aged 4-11, which offers a caring, safe and exciting learning environment. Our aim is for each and every child to develop a love of learning and to fulfil their potential, whatever their starting point or individual need. We believe in the development of the whole child, ensuring that their social and emotional needs, as well as their academic needs are met.
The school site was originally a secondary school and therefore benefits from the many features unique to an expansive building. For example a large, main hall which can easily seat 400 children, with a fully equipped AV system and purpose built stage for performing. We have large, separate classrooms with up-to-date IT equipment, intervention spaces, a dedicated PPA room and meeting rooms. Our extensive grounds include 3
playgrounds, a netball court, large open playing fields with flood lights, alongside a range of outside classroom spaces.
We have an exciting, cross-curricular approach to teaching at Manorcroft and have supported this by buying in
some key resources to support with teacher workload. For example Power Maths, Little Wandle, Cornerstones and Purple Mash.
Underpinning our entire curriculum is a drive to take learning outdoors wherever possible. This could range from simply moving the traditional ‘classroom’ from the building to the gazebo, or using the garden spaces, fields and playgrounds for different activities. The school grounds are fantastic and encompass an allotment and orchard, along with a wooded area. The whole curriculum is supported by having the Forest School
programme running two days a week which teaches team-work, co-operation and sharing.
We have a range of experienced staff on our teaching team and CPD opportunities are sought for everyone equally. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome and are mentored and developed by more experienced teachers. We have a large team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who support generally in class with quality first teaching, alongside working with small groups and 1-1 with children on an EHCP. The school Leadership Team promote wellbeing amongst all staff and offer opportunities for others to further their careers.
Manorcroft is in the middle of Egham, which is a thriving and expanding University town with a bustling High Street consisting of a good range of shops and eateries. In walking distance from the school is a large leisure centre catering for a wide range of sporting activities. The school is located a few minutes walk from the train station, which is on the Reading to London Waterloo line, and is a short drive from the M25.
