Degree - Essential

Qualified teacher status or recognised equivalent - Essential

Special Educational Needs and Disability qualification - Desirable

Autism specific training - Desirable

Training in meeting the needs of pupils with sensory / visual / physical / hearing impairment - Desirable

Current driving licence and access to own transport - Desirable

Recent experience of teaching pupils with severe learning difficulties - Essential

Experience working with young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties - Desirable

Experience teaching in more than one key stage - Desirable

Safeguarding and child protection - Essential

Promoting a high quality, stimulating learning environment - Essential

Experience of working in a special needs setting - Desirable

Alfreton Park is a lively, successful Special School for pupils aged 2 to 19 years, with severe and profound learning difficulties.
